Uso de plantas medicinais como estratégia didática para o ensino de botânica em turmas de 7° ano de escolas rurais de Cachoeira/BA

Abstract

The use of medicinal plants is a common practice in the Reconcavo region. This all happens because of their culture and have an arsenal of manifestations linked to the use of various plant species. Analyzing the teaching of botany in schools of Basic Education is observed that many students are put off due to lack of teaching resources and the fact that the teaching materials adopted by the school often unrelated species present reality of the student. It then becomes necessary to intervene in the practice of this content making it motivating to the student. This work depicts the typical use of medicinal plants in the Reconcavo region of Bahia as a teaching strategy of leaf morphology in classes in 7th year of rural schools in Cachoeira, Bahia, seeking integration between everyday knowledge and scientific knowledge of the student. After an analysis of the student's prior knowledge, began applying the methodology consisted in the use of medicinal plants for the study of leaf morphology and reproduction of a schematic design. After these steps a study of medicinal plants described in the previous survey was conducted. It was found from this study that the use of related species to the daily life of students is conducive to the development of teaching practices, because besides being the student bringing plant species present in their daily lives, this allows to understand better how the content to be worked.
