Psicologia e pluriversalidade: análise da inclusão de categorias filosóficas africanas na clínica com mulheres negras que lidam com o abandono parental

Abstract

The reflections on the human psyche started from Eurocentric philosophical bases, which contributed to the pathologization of black and indigenous rationality. Currently, the black woman in the diaspora who decides to start psychotherapy still suffers from the invisibilization of her African civilizing values, resulting in the non-recognition of the ancestral influence in the development of her subjectivity, reaffirming the process of colonial domination. In this research, it is considered that a pluriversal psychology, by giving visibility to African civilizing and identity values, can contribute as a tool for the promotion of mental health for black women who deal, among several intersectional issues, with parental abandonment. In this way, this project has the general objective of analyzing the clinical repercussions of the inclusion of African philosophical categories in the psychotherapeutic care of black women who deal with the demand of parental abandonment. A qualitative method was used, a case study design through semi-structured interviews with 03 black, adult, cisgender women, who are undergoing psychotherapeutic care with the author of the research, and who refer to psychic suffering associated with experiences of parental abandonment. As main analytical categories were used: a) sociodemographic data, life history and intimate relationships, clinical history; b) bibliographic survey of the state of the art on psychology and race relations in Brazil, USA and Mozambique; and c) African categories used in psychotherapy by the therapist - community, time and life force. It is concluded in the community category the achievement of greater reliability and maturity; in Time, a locator of the stages of psychic maturation was identified; and in vital force, positive self-esteem and recognition of the patient's potential are observed. Pluriversal psychology is based on horizontalities, and absorbs existing productions carried out by anti-racist pioneers in each country to consolidate itself. And finally, it is noted that giving visibility to African identity civilizing values contributes as a mental health promotion tool for black women who deal with parental abandonment.
