| metadata.dc.description.resumo: | Descreve-se um caso de osteopatia hipertrófica em cão no Recôncavo da Bahia. O animal foi encaminhado ao Hospital Universitário de Medicina Veterinária da Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia (HUMV- UFRB) com queixa principal de aumento de volume nos membros e dificuldade de locomoção, após ser realizado um procedimento de mastectomia, por conta de um tumor maligno. Após alguns meses a cadela veio a óbito, e na necropsia observou lesões macroscópicas como implantações tumorais na cavidade torácica e aumento de volume ósseo das extremidades distais dos membros, alterações característica de osteopatia hipertrófica. A microscopia das lesões torácicas revelaram células neoplásicas com característica de carcinoma sólido, as mesmas encontradas no tumor mamário. Neste caso podemos confirmar que as lesões de osteopatia hipertrófica encontradas, foram secundárias a neoplasia metastática da glândula mamaria. |

| Abstract: | We describe a case of hypertrophic osteopathy in dogs in the Reconcavo of Bahia. The animal was taken to the Hospital University of Medicine Veterinary the University Federal of Reconcavo of Bahia (HUMV- UFRB) complaining of swelling in the limbs and difficulty in walking after being carried out mastectomy procedure, because of a malignant tumor. After a few months the dog came to death, and autopsy observed macroscopic lesions as tumor implantation in the chest cavity and increased bone volume of the distal limbs, characteristic changes of hypertrophic osteopathy. The microscopy of thoracic lesions revealed neoplastic cells with solid carcinoma feature, the same found in breast tumor. In this case we can confirm that the hypertrophic osteopathy injuries found were secondary to metastatic mammary gland. |
