Violência psicológica contra as mulheres: a presença desse fenômeno junto às discentes de um curso numa Universidade Pública na Bahia

Abstract

The present work aims to investigate and place the reader about the psychological violence against university women in the social service course of the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia(UFRB).Regarding this theme and the studies of how psychological violence happens in the university environment, the need arises to deepen this theme in order to contribute to the debate in a way that makes it more visible, given the understanding of the lived experience for this modality of gender violence. Using as theoretical framework a bit of women’s history, studies on patriarchy, machismo and gender, as well as readings on feminist movements, literature review of Maria da Penha law and other legislations. In order to contribute to the debate with the following question: discuss the experience of psychological violence lived by the students of a university course. With this, I aim to corroborate and give voice to the vctims, talking about how this psychological violence occurs in the daily life of the university and the difficulties they encounter in face of this reality.For this we divided the work in introduction, along with three chapters, of which two are of theoretical content about women’s history, analysis of patriarchy, machismo and female subjugation, contributions of the feminist movement, gender, violence in the general context domestic and family violence, psychological violence, violence within the university, Maria da Penha law and the third is focused on the research field where we systematized the data from the interviews conducted online.We briefly report the creation of UFRB and when the Social Work course was created at the institution and we analyzed the statements of women who experienced psychological violence, in order to contribute to greater visibility of psychological violence with the intention of creating mechanisms to overcome it.
