Preta e acadêmica: violências vivenciadas por mulheres negras no ambiente universitário

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the expressions of gender and race violence in the university environment. Racism and gender violence are present in our society, since the colonial period, past centuries the expressions of these issues continue to hit us, so that black women are the category that are most violated. The social spaces, especially those of prestige were denied us, the rise of the population of black women, is seen by a macho and racist society as a threat to the destitution of the relations of power, soon the violence reaches us as a way out of these spaces. In the university environment, it is no different. Endowed with autonomy, the university is a social institution and therefore reflects the contradictions of society. In addition to being hindered the permanence and completion of a university course for a black woman, they are marked by violence and oppression. In this work we will discuss about these violence directed at black women in public universities in Bahia. Having as allies, the bibliographical study and semi-structured interviews, in which we will discuss about the ways in which these oppressions occur and how the educational institutions have dealt with them.
