Abstract

The Supervised Internship in Zootechnics is a mandatory component of the curricular structure of the Zootechnics course at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB) and aims to integrate theoretical knowledge and professional practice of the future zootechnician, aiming to articulate the knowledge necessary for the practice of production animal. This report describes the activities carried out in two stages of the internship carried out by the student Elon Souza Aniceto, from 05/25/2018 to 09/28/2018, under the guidance of Professor Dr. Soraya Maria Palma Luz Jaeger. The first stage was carried out in the Agroecological Sector of the Center for Agricultural, Environmental and Biological Sciences (CCAAB), of the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB), located in the municipality of Cruz das Almas, which consisted of the execution of an experimental test of research from the Post-Graduate Course in Animal Science at UFRB, in the area of ​​feeding and handling of beef sheep. The second stage of the supervised internship was carried out at the Municipal Zoological Park of Bauru, located in the municipality of Bauru-SP, where several activities related to the feeding and health management of wild animals in captivity were carried out, in addition to organizational practices of the Environmental Education Center of the Institution. The experience in two public institutions, with different core activities, resulted in the acquisition of knowledge and practical experience in the areas that I intend to work in the near future, in addition to having served as training for learning the dynamics of social and hierarchical interaction in the work environment, contributing substantially to complement our professional training.
