Baixa costura: uma experiência da escultura vestível no espaço urbano

Abstract

The work in question is a descriptive memorial that covers analyses, influences and works that projected the final artistic conception Low sewing: An experience of wearable sculptures in urban spaces. Firstly, the relationship between art and fashion is discussed, a primordial factor to understand its limits and approximations. Then the memorial is built from the influences of this relationship in the course of creation of my works during the academic period, where issues of sewing/textile art, bodies and urban spaces are addressed. The third part enters as an element of analysis that addresses the concept of wearable sculptures, where it contributes to the understanding of this definition. And finally, it describes the artistic experience in focus, which has as poetic license the concept built by the author, Low Sewing.
