Evolução das técnicas construtivas das habitações da cidade histórica de Cachoeira - BA

Abstract

This paper presents a study on historical buildings in the city of Cachoeira BA, in order to understand the transformations of the city, in addition to collaborating with the rescue of its sociocultural trajectory. This research aims to analyze and record the different typologies, architectural characteristics and the evolution of the construction techniques found in the city's dwellings. For this purpose, a methodology based on an exploratory study was used, through field and bibliographic research, as well as photographic records. The results obtained allowed us to observe that the municipality has an urban order of the Brazilian colonial period and that the evolution of the buildings is linked to the changes that society has undergone. It was concluded that, for centuries, Brazilian architecture imported European constructive concepts that were adapted to the materials available in the localities. The architectural styles of the buildings represent the history lived in different times, translating the needs of these periods and the aspirations of the ruling class, economic or political. The importance of preserving this heritage is emphasized in order to keep alive an important part of our country's history.
