Prolapso bilateral da glândula da terceira pálpebra em cão: relato de caso

Abstract

Studies aiming to compare the techniques of surgical treatment for the correction of prolapse of the third eyelid gland are necessary to promote updates in the literature and possible improvement in the forms of treatment. The paper reports the surgical treatment for the bilateral protrusion of the gland of the mediating membrane through the Morgan technique in a French Bulldog bitch of 5 years of age, attended at the University Hospital of Veterinary Medicine of UFRB. The Morgan technique presented good results in the right eye, however, in the left eye the animal presented recurrence, suggesting the indication of the techniques that promote the anchorage of the gland in the orbital periosteum in cases like the one presented in this work.
