O gerenciamento da comunicação como fator de sucesso na gestão de projetos: estudo de caso na Casa Familiar Rural de Presidente Tancredo Neves

Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether the management of communication influences the success of the projects carried out by a third sector organization and whether the management of its communication is effective. In this particular case, the organization under study is the Rural Family House of Presidente Tancredo Neves/BA (RFH-PTN). To achieve the proposed objective, this study analyzed the planning of communications carried out by the organization in the implementation of its projects. Besides, it identified how the management of communications affects the success of the projects undertaken. It also found that the control of the projects resulted in effective actions to meet the goals of the organization and, finally, it suggested practical improvements for the management of the executed projects. We did a bibliographic survey on the management of communications projects, from the point of view of both PMI and IPMA. We also approached the concept of communication, organizational communication and communication projects from technical and academic journals. The methodology was based on a case study, which was done through structured interviews, document analysis and personal observation. The results revealed that the lack of a communication plan and an array with the requirements of stakeholders interfere negatively on the success of the projects; barriers, such as distortions that hinder the urgency of information, can make difficult to achieve the effectiveness; and the lack of record of lessons learned also adversely affect the success of the projects executed by the organization under study.
