Narrativas autobiográficas de um professor de Biologia em formação com transtorno do espectro autista numa Universidade Pública

Abstract

With the increasing access to high school and the growing number of students getting in, the teaching institutions have themselves receiving different students either in social or psychological status. For that matter, the research in hand unravels as a portrait of the reality of an student within the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and its experience in the Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB), taking in consideration its specificities, them being on the legal support, with inclusion policies predicted by law or stipulated by the teaching instituition. As well as taking in consideration its biological and social condition as a neurodivergent person. And for that the research is built in a autobiographical approach, where the researcher experiences are largely considered as a strong source and tool of analysis of the studied reality, once that the living experiences of the researcher build an unique authority in the matter since the data are considered from its memories and its daily life then used as real comparison from what is shown in the literature as base of information. In this sense, the report presented here highlights experiences that deserve reflection on improving the conditions that are established within the inclusive proposal, which is desired within the university, mainly regarding the lack of continuing training for teachers and other members of the academic community, in order to better serve neurodiverse students.
