Identificando os agricultores familiares da cidade de São Felipe na Bahia: visibilizando sujeitos, trajetórias e demandas

Abstract

This research discusses the family farmer category and the diversity of subjects recognized in this denomination for the purpose of public policies. discuss the law 11.326/2006, which guides the formulation of the National Family Farming Policy and Rural Family Enterprises. Discusses the pluriactivity in agriculture and makes an explanation about family farming in Bahia, in addition to discussing the importance of associative formats for this category. Furthermore, it contextualizes the Território do Recôncavo da Bahia and the municipality where the research was carried out, the city ​​of San Felipe. For the field analysis, an exploratory research was carried out, with a qualitative approach, with a semi-structured interview script which guided the realization of 10 interviews in 5 rural communities with the so-called family farmers, of which 6 are men and 4 are women. The obtained results present the profile of the interviewees and identify whether there is occurrence of of pluriactivity to ensure their reproduction and that of their families, verifies that the own and use the document that provides and confers powers as a family farmer and identifies whether these farmers are included in associative ventures, and whether these organizations contribute in any way to lessen their vulnerability. The results show that although the Law above unify them, the result obtained demonstrates that some are still subdivided in farmers and farmers, moreover, they do not know their rights, which weakens them and reflects on socio-productive activity.
